About us
BIT: Building Independence Together was created in December 2016 due to the growing need for Medicaid providers of Applied Behavior Analysis Services in the Lowcountry. Our mission is to serve children and families by encouraging individuality and trauma responsive ABA services. With the use of evidence-based practices and research we strive to provide affirming therapy from a philosophy of understanding and compassion. Our supervisors and staff are encouraged to work collaboratively within our community and look to SLPs, OTS, and other service providers for their expertise within their service area,
BIT specializes in assent-based services (child-led), and for more information on what Assent Based Services entails, please go to “our philosophy” page.
BIT provides services in Charleston, Mount Pleasant, West Ashley, Daniel Island, Goose Creek, Ladson, Summerville, and Moncks Corner. Our services are collaborative with other providers within our community. Building relationships with schools, advocacy groups, other therapy groups, and local nonprofits is our passion and believe it builds a community of support and compassion.
We firmly believe that every individual deserves compassion, understanding, and assent led services. .
